The guide

Everything under the surface

How a run works, what each mine holds, what the contract does and does not do.

A run, start to finish

You take the lift down and dig with the arrows, WASD or the on-screen pad. Every swing and every metre climbed costs stamina. Your lantern burns oil, and as it fades you read blocks from a shorter distance.

The pack only comes home if you do. Walk back to the lift to bank everything. Run out of stamina and the rescue crew carries you up, leaving half the pack behind. So the question on every block is the same one: dig further or climb out?

Near the floor of each mine is a door. Behind it, a boss. Inside, stay off the red floor and hit the glowing plates before they pull back. Break the last plate and the lift comes down for you.

Each run comes from a seed, so the same seed is the same rock for anyone. There is one daily seed per mine, or type your own.

Reading the rock

Hairlines
White lines at the top of a block count the hazards touching it: gas or heat on any side, or loose rock right above.
Flecks
Coloured flecks in a block mean ore. Up close you can see which one.
Read (R)
Costs 1 stamina and marks everything within 2 blocks, gas included.
Gas
Breaking a pocket costs stamina and lantern oil. It looks like plain rock until read.
Loose rock
Break the block under it and it falls where you stand.
Heat
Deep mines hold seams that burn while you stand on them.

Tasks

12 tasks on the board in town. They track your own progress, and they pay nothing.

On chain

MinercashDepthLedger on Robinhood Chain records what a wallet says: runs per mine, a best per wallet, non-transferable achievement flags, one shown name, and crews of up to four wallets with an accept step. It has no owner, no admin, no fee, no pause, holds nothing and pays nothing.

A run can carry its seed and a replay hash, so another wallet can re-run it and mark what it saw. Those marks are that wallet's word. Until the contract is deployed, the same buttons work in practice mode: your wallet signs a message, and the record stays in this browser.

Questions

Do I need a wallet to play?

No. The whole game runs in your browser and saves there. A wallet is only for posting a run, claiming a name or joining a crew.

Are gems and ores money?

No. They are in-game materials for tools, and collectibles. You cannot withdraw, sell or exchange them here, and they are no claim on the token or anything else.

Is there a prize for the top of the board?

No. There are no prizes, no wagers and no payouts of any kind.

Can someone fake a run on the board?

Yes. The contract cannot see the game, so posts are self-reported and labelled so. Anyone can re-run a shared replay in their browser and compare, which helps, and it still does not prove who played.

What happens if I lose my save?

It lives in this browser's storage. Clearing site data deletes it. Runs you posted on chain stay on chain.

What are the risks of the contract?

It is new and has had no outside review. It holds no funds and takes no approvals, so what you risk is the gas you spend. Records are public and permanent.
